Visit to York

On 1st Dec, after Newcastle, we went to York to visit Eni & Peng Siong and their two lovely princesses. Weather had been quite bad. But the two princessess said this is the best winter they ever had. See! They get to sledge to school!

Instead of sitting on the sledge, MX prefers to put her school bag on the sledge.

Off, they go, sledging all the way to school :)

We had 炒米粉、白斩鸡 and 火锅during our stay. Eni's cooking is really good ! (sorry, I enjoyed the food so much that I forgot to take picture)

经济炒米粉！

耶！成功了！我终于会做经济炒米粉了！味道好好哦！

每次来英国，我最最最想念的新加坡食物是我最喜欢吃的经济炒米粉。

其他的什么咖喱啦、辣沙啦、椰浆饭啦、鸡饭啦我都能做，
可是就是经济炒米粉,我妈说她不会炒，在家时我们一起试过几次，
都炒不出经济米粉的texture。

终于，上个月去家访MJ，她炒经济米粉来招待我们。我马上向她请教，原来炒经济米粉是不用先把米粉在水里浸软的。

1 先用油炒香切碎的小葱头（葱头要多放些炒出来的米粉才会香）

2 加切片的包菜炒一炒

3 再加上高汤煮滚*

4 随自己的喜好加调味料，如酱油、酱青或蚝油、麻油、胡椒粉等

5 把洗干净的米粉加入高汤里，把火转小

不断用筷子翻搅，直到米粉快把高汤吸干，

然后加盖，直到米粉完全变软就行了

* 我没有自己煮高汤，我用那天用酱油蚝油加麻油炒过的猪肉碎加入炒香的小葱头再加适量的水代替高汤。

Visit to Newcastle

It was 30th Nov, it was snowing heavily through out the country. Woon was invited by Newcastle Uni to present a paper on 1 Dec. The Head of Dept of Newcastle Uni Bussiness School said to Woon that due the bad weather, he could understand if we could not make it to Newcastle. Of course, we made it eventually, if not, we would not have taken all these pictures.

Woon, our hero, think it was ok cos the weather forecast that the temperature in Newcastle is around -1. The high way should be ok inspite of snowy weather. So, we drove all the way to Newcastle, we supposed to arrive Newcastle at 9pm, but eventually, we almost stranded along M1 cos somewhere near Sheffield, the snowstorm was so strong and snow started piling up even on the highway. Some trucks were stuck along the high way, part of the road were closed and we have to detour, after brave through the storm for few hours, finally and fortunately, we arrived Newcastle Copthorne Hotel at 12 mid-night. It was quite a scary experience. Woon said that if he knew the condition is that bad, he would not in the first place to start the journey.

这是我第一次煮花生汤，不知道为什么汤水有点浊，不过味道还不错！:p

北英格兰静谧的严冬（二）

On our way back from North England,

we stopped at a service station for a cup of hot tea.

Look at the thick snow!

All the outdoor objects were covered by piles of snow!

Caerphilly 的雪景

已经不记得是第几次到卡翡黎，不过这是第一次看到卡翡黎的雪景。

卡翡黎在皑皑白雪的装饰下，更增添几许妩媚。
