Early Spring@Cardiff
21st of March is said to be the first day of spring here, but it is stil very cold. Although the sky is blue and it seems quite sunny, but the wind is strong and cold.
Today we invited Woon's colleague from Russia, Natasha for lunch, and we invited our flatmate, Tony, as well. After lunch, we walked Natasha back to her hostel near the university. We walked thru Lladdaff Park, and to our surprise, the park is bustling with blooming flowers.

民以食为先
这次来英国的行李有一半是吃的东西。不是开玩笑哦，这六个月我真的要做个家庭“煮”妇哦。
瞧，我还带了围裙和食谱呢。这件围裙是好多年前去日本研修时会友送的，还有，谢谢敏送的饼干食谱。

惊喜
18/3我乘搭新航飞往伦敦。前一晚我已经check-in thru internet，原本以为很快就能check in行李,没想到行李重39kg！超重了19kg！我心里想这次糟糕要破财了！替我check in 的工作人员问我是不是学生，我当然说是，（从他的口气很明显的，学生就可以网开一面）可是我却没有办法出示我的学生证，后来他请来了一位女上司，她好像也没办法，最后只好请来一位好像是经理级的人物，他很严肃的再问我一次有什么文件可以证明我是学生，我说我先生在英国工作，我拿了家属签证，所以不需要学生证。他说："You only entitle to 20kg luggage, I can only give you maximum up to 30kg, but you have 39kg, that is really too much, this time I let you go, but next time try to pack within 30kg." Phew!我顿时松了一口气！谢谢妈妈早上替我唱的题目。
因为在check in 行李花了不少时间，我匆匆进入候机室，咦，怎么这么特别，候机室还有备有自助式早餐，这时大多数的乘客都已登机，一位工作人员还前来帮我拿行李。于是我赶快登机，后来才发现原来18/3是SIA ever first flight to London by A380，难怪这么隆重，机舱里还有很多记者和摄影队来来往往，每个乘客都有一大包的纪念品，还有一张飞行证书呢，真是有点夸张呢！飞机抵达伦敦机场，所有乘客和工作人员大力鼓掌，机场有欢迎队伍，还有乐队祝庆，每名乘客都有胸花！或许有些人专程搭乘这所谓first flight by A380 to London, 对我来说，这是意外的惊喜！

圣陶沙？
不管在哪里，看报纸总是一大享受，我指的当然是中文报纸。
那天回柔佛，看到报章介绍新加坡圣淘沙旅游的消息，发现他们把Sentosa译为“圣陶沙”，顿时觉得有点不对劲。虽说“圣淘沙”只是Sentosa的音译，而且“圣陶沙”读起来也和“圣淘沙”没什么差别，但是如果翻译的人考虑到Sentosa是一个小岛，四周被海环绕，应该会选择“圣淘沙”，这会比“圣陶沙”更贴切，更能表现Sentosa是一个旅游小岛。
如果你用微软XP的中文软件打汉语拼音shengtaosha，出现的也是“圣淘沙”，不知道马来西亚的报章为什么会舍“圣淘沙”，而取“圣陶沙”？

Special Durian
What's so special about this durian? It is special because it was bought specially for me. =)
He is already 80 yrs old, but he is going strong and healthy. You will know when he speak on the phone, he is loud and clear and I think even the neighbour can also hear him clearly. Especially when he scold people, he is really zhong qi shi zu (中气十足）. He is very particular about everything, and to him everything has to be prim and proper. You will get scolding from him even for very small things, for example, if you don't back the phone charges after using the cordless phone, or u don't bring back the cup to kitchen after drinking water etc...
But he has another side of him. He express his love for the family members in his quite way where people can't see and but one can feel his care and concern. He doesn't like us to go out at night, because he said it is not safe (even we are already adult). When the maid climb up ladder to clean cupboard or window, she will get scolding from her as he said it is too dangerous for her to do so.
Last Friday, I went back to Johor to stay with my in law for a few days before I left for UK. Yesterday morning, he bought me a durian (one and the only one). He said my mother in law should not take too much durian due to her health, so he bought only one durian for me. Although this is an ordinary durian (and actually I don't really fancy durian), I am very touch by his kind gesture.

Bake & Bake Day
It all started with MG, she brought bisscotti and earl grey biscuit baked by herself and we all love it. Then LCM said she can bake tiramisu, and I can bake cheese cake. So we went to LCM's place last Sunday to have our very first Bake & Bake Day to learn how to bake BISSCOTTI, TIRAMISU & CHEESE CAKE. Among the three, bisscotti takes the longest time to bake.
Below is completed bisscotti and tiramisu on the right.
LCM demonstrates how to separate the egg white and egg yoke to make tiramisu.
These are tiramisu and cheese cake in the fridge.
We were all very happy on this Bake & Bake day!
